King Of My Heart

In the story of God and humanity, God often had a fixed place where his presence could be experienced by chosen priests of the people. When Israel finally settled down after a long time as a wandering people, they once again built such a place for God – a temple.

The exclamation "Lord, there is no God like you!" comes from King Solomon. With this prayer he recalled God's covenant (with David) and dedicated the first temple in Jerusalem. He knelt down in front of the whole people and showed: no matter what position we are in, God is the true King. Through Jesus alone, every person now has access to God's presence – always and everywhere.

We want to encourage you to give this Jesus the place of King in your hearts. As God, as our Father and our Creator, he knows better than we do who we are, what is good for us, how we tick and what we need. His motivation is love, and his will holds good things for us. Let's make God the ruler over our lives and submit to him, because He is God and He is good.
