Sustainability at Good-Natured: organic cotton, recycled fibres and fair production

Where our clothing is made: Portugal, Saxony and selected partners

  • Portugal and Saxony: Most of our clothing is made in Portugal, and our socks are knitted in Saxony. Individual pieces come from partners in Serbia, Poland, North Macedonia and Bangladesh – every product page tells you where your piece comes from.
  • Good working conditions: We work with partners who pay fair wages and comply with social standards. We visit our production sites in Europe regularly. Our supplier of blank garments is a member of the Fair Wear Foundation – we ourselves are not a member.
  • Proximity: Being close to our production sites in Portugal allows us to work closely together and ensure our high quality standards.

SOCKS MADE IN GERMANY

Our socks are made 100% in Germany – in Saxony, to be precise. This way we support the local economy and secure jobs in the region.

Materials

Our materials: organic, recycled and certified

Icon ORGANIC COTTON

We use organic cotton certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

  • No synthetic pesticides: It is grown without synthetic pesticides and fertilisers.
  • Verified processing: GOTS specifies which chemicals may be used throughout processing.
  • Social criteria: GOTS includes minimum standards for working conditions along the production chain.

The GOTS label ensures that a product meets the standard’s environmental and social criteria – checked by independent certification bodies.

Icon Recycled polyester

Our recycled polyester is made from plastic waste instead of new crude oil and is certified to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

  • Less virgin raw material: Recycled polyester replaces polyester that would otherwise be newly made from crude oil.
  • Verified recycled content: The GRS checks the recycled content across the entire supply chain.

The GRS also sets requirements for the use of chemicals and for working conditions in processing.

Icon Elastane

Some pieces – such as socks, sportswear and rib fabrics – contain a small amount of elastane for shape and freedom of movement. Where the elastane is recycled or OEKO-TEX certified, you’ll find this under “Material and care”.
