King of My Heart
In God's history with humanity, God often had a fixed place where his presence could be experienced by selected priests of the people. When Israel finally settled down after a long period as a wandering people, they built such a place for God again, a temple.
This cry, "Lord, there is no God like you!" comes from King Solomon. With this prayer, he recalled God's covenant (with David) and dedicated the first temple in Jerusalem. He knelt before the entire people and proved: No matter our position, God is the true King. Through Jesus alone, every person now has a claim to God's presence – always and everywhere.
We encourage you to grant this Jesus the position of King in your hearts. As God, as our Father, and our Creator, He knows better than we do who we are, what is good for us, how we tick, and what we need. His motivation is love, and His will has good things in store for us. Let us make God the ruler of our lives and submit to Him, for He is God and He is good.
